Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. When she was just five when she left for Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to be a professional actress from the age of six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting school with part-time courses. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in many Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaption of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight straight auditions. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The most successful film of 2001 it set new records for its opening day opening and its opening weekend earnings. The film received praise from experts, and also by the performances of its three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British paper, praised her for her exceptional performance. Then Emma was nominated for five awards for her role in the film winning an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in an Feature Film.
