Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress, best known for her role in the films Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! The actress began her career in the her twenties. The role she played as Anil Kapoor in Tezaab has made her incredibly well-known. The next film she appeared in was Dil in which she starred alongside Aamir. A middle-class family was raised in Mumbai she began learning to dancing at a young age. While still a teenager she tried her hand at acting, however most of her early movies did not succeed. Then she found her feet and became one of the leading actors within the Indian film business. After her marriage the actress took time to rest from her acting career prior to returning. Recently, she played a prominent role on the film Gulaab Gang. The film featured the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which eight she won. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit, India's fourth highest civil honor. She is known for her charitable work as well.
